DO YOU HEAR WHAT I HEAR?

QUESTION: What is easy to do but hard to stop?
    ANSWER: Complaining

Let’s take a moment of silence…what did you hear? Did you hear complaining or complimenting? This should be done as an individual test on yourself instead of using it for testing others. It is always easy to pick out the negative and have an elaborate conversation about it, but it is so hard to hold a positive conversation or offer a solution to the problem.

As I listen to myself I find myself doing both, especially now that the phones are slow and the hours are being cut and its too many bills not enough money to go around. Our families add agony to our daily pressures of coming to work and what do we do? Immediately share them among others. Could it really be true that misery loves company? Do we really want to bring others down into our world? Why not focus on the positives? We do have a job to come to. Little hours or not, it is still employment. We are servicing those who need help and hopefully we are the ones to help give them the solution and put them out of their agony of moving. Have you thought about going to someone and telling them that they are doing a good job? I challenge everyone (including myself) to tell someone else how good of a job that they are doing or use a positive phrase. Therefore every time you hear a complaint counteract it with a solution or turn it into a compliment or positive statement. Here’s an example:
Complaint: “Boy the phones are slow and it is boring today.”
Compliment: Have you blogged lately? I think that you would be good at it.
It is easy, almost as easy as complaining!
