Since this special shopping is becoming popular day by day many companies, genuine and frauds, are flooding the market. So it is very difficult to identify the genuine and legitimate companies. All a person interested in special shopping needs to do is to get registered with a genuine company. Do not register with the later type because the companies undertaking special shopping directly register the shoppers into their pool.
Do not think that the companies giving you mystery shopping employment will take you in just like that. The real companies will look for the correct people for their job to be done. Got away againBy admin on November 29, 2005 | No Comments

Welcome to the secret shopping blog.
Today I did three in-person shops of three different storage facilities in Miami. I wanted to see how people sell self storage in this market.
I did one of my cruel but effective acid tests. I went in around lunch time and looked at my watch a lot. I played, “I’m on my lunch hour and I don’t have much time”.
The first store manager was renting a unit to a customer. He was having fun with the customer and doing the move-in routine. He had an assistant behind the counter who must have been getting ready to go to lunch, because he ignored me as I waited and slipped out the door. The manager handed me a price list and asked me to look at it while he finished with the people he was helping. He asked me to wait while he was about to take the new customers to show them their unit and finish the move-in routine. I told him I’d check back and not to worry about it because I had the price list and I left the store. I was a fish that got away.
At the second store the manager locked the front door behind me and took me up to show me a unit. At least he asked me a few qualifying questions while giving me prices. I said “Thanks” and that I had to get back to work. He said “Ok” and let me get away, too.
The last manager I messed with at least asked me what I would be storing and helped me picture what a 5×15 might look like. I Said I had to get back to work and wrote down the price he gave me on a card and left. He let me get away, too.
No one tried to seal a deal with me. No one tried to get my name and contact info. No one had me fill anything out. No one asked to reserve a unit for me.
It was an interesting day.

Welcome to the secret shopping blog, where we keep a diary of our experience in the world of secret shopping and mystery shopping.
The world of Secret Shopping is not fool-proof. We decided to add another element to our department about two weeks ago. We came to the agreement that we would add a couple of new shoppers. Fresh bodies are important for the secret shopping world because they add new voices and new scenarios. After a very vigorous training session, the training coordinator got both of the new people up and running. Trust me when I say that this training is precise. One of the new people started right away on their shops, and did great. They got about 19 shops done in an hour and a half. We considered that to be pretty great because some of the shops they finished were usually difficult to obtain. Another regular shopper finished about 20 shops later in the day after their shift.
When the audio vault was checked a couple of days later it was discovered that while the calls were in the audio vault there was no actual recording of any of the shops. My first question to myself was why the new person was allowed to be here for an hour and a half without checking one of their calls to make sure they were doing them correctly. Besides the actual shop, there is at least one other thing to take into consideration at this point. Was the new person voice at the correct level for a correct recording? This seems to me like an important thing to check right off the bat.
Well, after a little investigation, the problem was figured out. It seems that someone had been doing some evaluations at that same computer one day earlier and had plugged in their headset. In the act of plugging in the headset, they unplugged one of the connections to the phone that completes the wiring for the recorder. From a technical stand point, not a big issue. The plug was put in the correct place and we were ready to go. Worst case scenario, we lost about 39 shops and a few days of work time. So we rearranged the schedule a bit and are trying to get back on track.
We learned a lesson that day. The future will hold more whoopsies, but hopefully they will get figured out quickly and without much damage.
Thanks, Natalie
