Sometimes secret shopping is best used to show a weakness. You may not always want to do a detailed analysis. Often first impressions or general weaknesses in a sale system are the most valuable things you can take away from a secret shop.
You may not want to make an official report of every shop. You may just want to catalogue the experience to use as an illustration of a problem.
For instance it would do no good to harp on the details of a shop, if the shop showed a fundamental flaw in the approach. In that case, the shop would tell you to go back to the drawing board for the whole program and not to write up an extensive evaluation for the employee you shopped.
