Shopping For Baby
-
Mom and Dad had been married for 5 years and are both very successful. They had been trying to have a child for about 4 months and had been unsuccessful for a while. Surprisingly, Dad received a phone call at his office from Mom, stating she was pregnant. They both are ecstatic. Immediately, Mom calls the doctor to make an appointment. They attend the regular doctors appointments and find out they are going to have a healthy baby boy. Mom and Dad decide that they need to make room for the baby and started to tidy their 4 bedroom home. They concluded that they would make Moms office a nursery for the baby. They figured that they needed to start shopping for storage units and items for the baby nursery. Dad calls several self storage facilities for a price of a 5×10 and 5×15 storage unit. He is storing a bookshelf, desk, computer chair and books, the items in Moms office. He finds out that shopping for self storage is not as easy as he thought. There are many things to consider like security, gate hours, location and climate controlled units. Dad really wants a climate controlled unit for the trophies and plaques that he and his wife incurred after many years of working with their law firm. Finally, two weeks later, after shopping around and visiting four self storage facilities Dad finds one that he is satisfied with. The price is reasonable, the unit is climate controlled on the first floor and they have been offered a free truck. Dad reserves the storage unit for the following week and is pleased that they are finished shopping for storage.
The next task Dad and Mom had to complete is the moving of the furniture out of the office. Dad had to work more hours to save money for the baby, so time was limited. The day that they planned to move their items into storage Mom had stomach pains, so Dad rushed her to the hospital. Luckily, it was just indigestion and the baby was fine. They then went shopping for the baby. Dad was so paranoid with the fact that Mom would hurt herself helping him in the moving process, he forbade her not to help. The next day Dad and his brother moved all of the furniture into the storage unit and cleaned the office out.
The following week they decided to go shopping for baby furniture and decor for the room. They went to the baby store and chose a beautiful forest green color for the walls, and animal and jungle wall decor. Next, they went shopping for baby furniture in town. Dad purchased a matching white crib, rocking chair, changing table, and dresser. He went out of his way to ensure his first son would have the best. They also acquired toys, toiletries, and diapers for the new unborn babies. Before they knew it, their car was crammed and they set out home. Mom set up the babys room while Dad painted and put the furniture together. They were afraid and yet excited about the new baby that would be arriving any day now.
The day had finally come and Mom was in labor. Ten hours later the baby was born. They brought him home to his new room and he seemed to love his jungle themed room. Dad was exhausted but had to revisit the store to go shopping for formula and more diapers for baby. When he returned he realized that although the nursery was baby-proof he would eventually have to make the entire house baby-proof, so Dad went back to the store to do more shopping. While he was out he purchased gates, a baby monitor, and a baby thermometer. He decided that he would go shopping to buy a toddler bed, a potty, and cups, so he would not have do anymore shopping in the future. Overall, the family was happy and baby had everything he needed, but Dad knew he had to pick up more shifts at work to support his family.
