Many people believe it is fun to do mystery shopping . It is often viewed as an easy job where the shopper visits an establishments, does some shopping, certain amount of spying and then reporting to the employing. After some weeks getting paid along with bagging the goods for which the shopping is done. But is it really so? Is the task so easy? This is the question that haunts the mind of novices. Newcomers who are serious about their assignments do not want to take chances by taking the job easy. This is indeed not easy and those who do not take the assignments seriously are often unsuccessful. After a few visits and reporting, either they are dropped by the hiring company or they themselves surrender.  Mystery shopping is not easy. How can it be easy when you are judging someone elses performance? Based on your reports someone may lose their job, so how can you just fool around? You need to be serious with your work.

The job of mystery shopping may not be like other jobs, that binds fixed hours. This is easy and provides some convenient timing. But that does not mean that you will play around and take things easily. Shoppers who are on a mission should understand that they are not critics and they are not there to find faults. They need to be very careful with their observations and work, as they are doing the tough work of judging some ones performance. If you are unsure about your observation, you are free to visit the establishment some other time, but just ensure that the report you are providing is accurate and correct.

In a mystery shopping assignment the shopper is liable to work well and responsibly towards the company also for which he is working. The shopper is the representative of the company and he needs to take care that his identity is not disclosed. Suppose you visit a restaurant on an assignment and the waiter recognizes and understands that you are an uncover shopper. What happens next? He becomes aware and may be alerts the others too in the establishment. The hired shopper is not able to perform is job and his mission is lost forever. The employing company does not desire this. The shopper has to work intelligently and diligently for the company so that the mission is accomplished.

Whenever you are sent on a mystery shopping assignment, you are supposed to provide a detailed description and account of your observation, so that a detailed report can be prepared. It is the responsibility of the shopper to observe everything and if he cannot remember everything that he sees, it is best to keep small notes, with the help of which he can prepare reports at a later period. It is important that the information and observations provided by you is complete in all respects so that a conclusion can be drawn from it. If your observation is such that a detail study cannot be made, it is assumed that your work is incomplete. It is of no use to the company, so it is best to avoid this kind of assignment. If any report is made it has to be complete and detailed so that there is no scope for doubts and misunderstanding, which can result in any kind of wrong reports.
