Relocating to Miami Florida

  • You must be doing something right for your company if they relocate you to Miami . That is my opinion at least. Recently, this happened to a friend of mine who is in the United States Coast Guard. His relocation to Miami comes just in time before the start if the famous harsh Maine winters. Maine was his home for two years, and now he is about to enter a contrasting world. Besides climate, demographics, and cultural changes, he faces changes in his living space. In Maine he enjoyed spacious living for his outdoor recreational habits. In Miami, where living space is more compact, he will have to find an alternative place to store his four-wheeler and camping gear.

It was beyond my belief that he did not think of using a storage unit on his relocation to Miami. He almost unwillingly sold his toys, and would have if it wasn’t for my clever suggestion. Excited about the idea, he was a little hesitant at first. He thought it would be expensive and his possessions would be at risk stored on a city property. I reassured him that there are many self storage facilities in Miami that offer security. For instance, Storage Mart on Bird Road and  SW 99th Avenue offers an access controlled gate, door alarms, video surveillance, and a bright lighting. Storage Mart on NW 7th and Red Road and StorageMart on SW 2nd Avenue and SW 7th Street (Miami River) offers the same amenities. If it is important for him to keep his four-wheeler and camping supplies than the value he gets for self storing is worth the small expense.

My friend ended up keeping his toys and is glad he did on his relocation to Miami. Though he is in the heart of the city life in Miami, there are plenty of places outside of the city where he rides his four-wheeler and camps overnight. He’s not a city person by nature, so getting rid of his toys would leave him at a loss for entertainment, even in Miami. He would disagree with my opening statement; you must be doing something right for your company if they send you on relocation to Miami . He believes it was a punishment, since it was not one of his requested cities. My opinion differs because I rather spend my winters in a subtropical climate than spend them on the frozen ice cap.
