Flexibility of a Secret Shopper

Life takes us in directions that we often do not foresee. The course that we set for ourselves as young adults often gives way to the ebb and flow of the circumstances that we attract into our lives. Setting goals begins to be challenging, because indeed we do not know what, or who, may be coming around the next bend. Suddenly, and often without warning, we open up our hearts to people who are blown by the winds, right into our path, blocking the view of the goals that we have set, and we begin relationships that change our course again.

These unexpected events not only alter our destination, but also the way in which we ultimately experience the journey. It is possible to be persistent and to move towards our ultimate, original goal, if we allow for the differences. The funny thing about life, however, is that often, once we achieve the goal that we thought we so desperately wanted, we realize that it is not all that we imagined it to be.

Perhaps one of the most important personal characteristics that we can develop within ourselves is the flexibility to allow for the changes that continually take place in our lives, responding with acceptance, an open heart and a willingness to be open to where the ebb and flow takes us. Giving up rigidity means that we can see anothers point of view, even though we may not entirely agree with it. Being open to new opportunities, rather than insisting that things work out in a particular way often presents us with fantastic opportunities that, had we not been willing to acknowledge, we would have been entirely oblivious of.

Flexibility in how we make a living is important, whether you work as a carpenter, an electrician, a preschool teacher or a secret shopper . Though these careers may involve plenty of detail oriented work, adjusting our perspective so that we consider all of our options brings success more swiftly than staying firmly rooted in the belief that there is only one right way to accomplish a task.

Take the secret shopper , for instance. Flexibility is a must for anyone who chooses this specialized form of observation and evaluation. The secret shopper needs to have a flexible schedule because of the number of companies who are now using their skills to improve employee relations with customers. The secret shopper also needs to be extremely open to the actual assignment, as each one is entirely different, occurring in a different location, producing different results. A job could be anything from shopping for boat storage to a diamond ring. Imagine the impossibility of staying fixed and rigid in a job like the secret shopper . It is doubtful that anything would ever get done!

No matter what our job happens to be today, understanding that the world is full of possibilities can help us in times of doubt or fear. In essence, when we are afraid of a set of circumstances occurring in our lives, we are not taking into consideration all of the possibilities. We are not being flexible by focusing only on what we do not want. Instead, if we open to all of the things that can happen that are desirable and wanted, we have a greater chance of actually bringing that change about. If we can think it, we can create it. We just have to be flexible enough to allow for the situations required in the creation of that desire to come to us, in whatever way that they will.
