Easy Money by Secret Shopping

Its time to talk shop. In New York only a day after the towers fell, the mayor at the time of New York City counseled his city people to show your confidence. Show you’re not afraid. Go to restaurants. Go shopping. Though the purpose of this message is not the same, it is a similar statement many retailers and restaurants owners are calling for people to do. Only, they are looking for shoppers to get paid to shop. That’s right, the world is turning upside down. People can get paid to shop nowadays. They go to restaurants, order whatever they want, and get paid for doing it. It makes you want to quit you job, doesn’t it?

Well, it is a job. It’s called secret shopping or mystery shopping to the layman. They get paid to shop all service orientated businesses and give an evaluation of the experience. The report goes to the store or restaurant manager and he or she can make decisions based on the secret shopping report. Meanwhile, if you are a secret shopper, you get paid to shop and sometimes get to keep the merchandise you buy. Other times the merchandise must be returned, however, you cannot return food consumed at a restaurant. That is a given. 

Why do people get paid to shop? In this highly competitive society, business owners and managers want to make sure their customers are being treated with the best possible service. A business owner or manager can evaluate an employee’s performance by only numbers. But a secret shopper can evaluate the customer’s experience in true fashion. See, employees don’t know that they are being secret shopped so they treat the secret shopper as if they were an actual customer. Little does the employee know that people get paid to shop his or her store or restaurant. So his or her natural sales techniques are being evaluated by the mystery shopper. Managers use the feedback to train the employee on what areas he or she can improve in.

Part time job seekers and stay at home moms make up the majority of those who get paid to shop. Why? With rug rats at home and other household responsibilities, they need a job where they can work from home and make up their own hours. Now if you weren’t paying attention, secret shoppers get paid to shop, work from their homes, and set their own hours. It sounds too good to be true. Right?

Well it is true, but when something sounds too good to be true that statement may be right. As there are many legitimate secret shopping businesses looking for people to make easy money, there are just as many secret shopping scams. It’s because this job is very appealing and most people qualify. Spotting a secret shopper scam is easy as shopping itself. With legit secret shopping businesses, you get paid to shop on the contrary, scams make you pay to secret shop. When was the last time you had to pay someone to hire you? Hopefully never; that will happen when the world turns upside down. Secret shopping is a job. You get paid to work, you get paid to shop.
